  • MediaDB / «Bedlam is like Bethlehem. Conversations of lovers of the Russian word" Boris Paramonov, Ivan Tolstoy: download fb2, read online

About the book: year / The subject of literary and philosophical conversations of Boris Paramonov and Ivan Tolstoy is Russian literature, which the co-authors consider in “personal” chapters. Chronological the range is the twentieth century, but with a margin: from Vladimir Solovyov to Alexander Solzhenitsyn. The genre principle is an analysis of a literary figure taken as a whole, in the completeness of his myth. The interlocutors are interested in conceptual, psychological and stylistic issues of creativity, and their judgments are least of all academic in nature. The co-authors go to Nabokov or Pasternak through the history of their own reading of these writers, to Akhmatova and Mayakovsky - through polemics with their critic K. Chukovsky. The proposed conversations were aired on the waves of Radio Liberty in 2012-2016. This is not a textbook, not lectures, and certainly not sermons, but simply a free conversation across the ocean (New York - Prague) of two people who consider Russian literature the most fascinating thing in the world.
