About the book: 2021 / Irina Antonova is the legendary director of the State Museum of Fine Arts named after A. S. Pushkin, where she worked for seventy-five years. The woman the whole world knew. Those painting exhibitions that she held in the museum became striking cultural phenomena in Moscow. Presidents, politicians and ambassadors of different countries were friends with her, considering it a great honor for their states to represent museum collections in the Moscow Pushkin Museum. In her book, she talks about her childhood, youth, war years, meetings with famous people (among them Marc Chagall, Ilya Ehrenburg, Henri Matisse's secretary Lydia Delectorskaya) and about serving great art. The book is organically complemented by photographs reflecting not only the events of the author's life, but also the cultural history of the country over the past sixty years.
