Shmelev's letters are kept in New York, and Kartashev's are kept in Moscow. The correspondence of two Russian exiles, who met in Paris, covers the period from 1923 to 1950. It presents the life of the Russian emigration, filled with love for the abandoned Motherland, rejection of Soviet power, fears, doubts, rumors, and refugee life. The correspondence conveys the atmosphere that reigned in Russia Abroad between the two world wars. The publication is also supplemented by letters to I.S. Shmelev, head of the Russian Orthodox Church abroad, Metropolitan Anastasy (Gribanovsky). Published for the first time. The publishing layout of the book is saved in a4.pdf format.
