(“The Tale of Olga” and “The Tale of Feodosia”), Vladimir-Suzdal Rus' of the 12th century. (“Theodoretz White Klobuchok”), Muscovite Rus', 16th century. (“Who Dies”) The story of the abbot of the Kiev-Pechersk Monastery Theodosius, borrowing the plot from the ancient Russian life, composed in the 11th century by Nestor the Chronicler, recreates the living character of the first monk of the Russian Church.
