The mysterious projects of Kuznetsov, who came from the USSR to Berlin, the family drama of the artist Troshcheykin, the crazy whirling of the inventor Waltz between reality and fantasy - the conflicts and collisions of these plays are surprisingly modern and fascinating. The drama “The Man from the USSR”, unpublished during Nabokov’s lifetime, is printed from the archival text. The play “The Invention of the Waltz” was first published in an expanded version in 1968.
