About the book: year / In 1949, Jean Bruce publishes his first novel about the adventures of secret agent Hubert Bonisseur de la Bath. The protagonist was based on a real OSS agent with registration number 117 - William Leonard Langer, whom Bruce met during the liberation of Lyon. Rich everyday experience helps describe the adventures of Agent 117 with maximum accuracy, and some researchers express the opinion that all of Jean Bruce's novels were based on a real historical event. Novels about the agent are becoming extremely popular in France. Numerous film adaptations bring this hero international fame. And in 1969, the famous Alfred Hitchcock directed the film Topaz, in which he offered his version of Agent 117. Agent 117 is often considered a parody of the more famous James Bond. But Jean Bruce wrote his first novel in 1949, and Fleming in 1952. And Fleming himself argued that even a digital coincidence is a pure coincidence. Died in a car accident on March 26, 1963, while speeding at 200 km/h in his Jaguar MK2. Three years after Jean Bruce's death, his wife Josette, at the request of publishers, continued to write and publish novels about Agent 117 and wrote 143 more novels over 33 years. After her death, Jean's children Alexandra and Josette, François and Martin continue to write novels about Agent 117 to this day. Contents:1. Jean Bruce: In a neutral country (Translation: V.
