In 1939 he graduated from the Naval Artillery School, and in 1941 from the Black Sea Higher Naval School in Sevastopol. In March 1941, with the rank of midshipman, he was sent to the 1st torpedo boat brigade. On the eve of the war he commanded TKA-42. He fought on this boat for almost all the years of the Great Patriotic War. Participant of the Great Patriotic War since 1941. The commander of the torpedo boat flight of the 2nd division (1st Sevastopol Order of Nakhimov brigade of torpedo boats, Black Sea Fleet), senior lieutenant Georgy Rogachevsky, during the battles for the liberation of Crimea from May 3 to 4, 1944, sank a transport and 2 enemy barges. By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 16, 1944, for the courage and bravery shown in the battles during the liberation of Crimea, senior lieutenant Georgy Alekseevich Rogachevsky was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal (No. 3799). After the war, the brave Hero continued to serve in the USSR Navy. In 1958 he graduated from the Naval Academy in Leningrad. He commanded formations of ships and trained personnel for the fleet. He worked as a senior engineer at the Institute of Geochemistry and Mineral Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR. He was a full member of the Mineralogical Society of the USSR.
