About the book: 1982 / The novel by the prominent modern Yugoslav writer Dervis Susic "I, Danila" (1960) is built in the form of a monologue of the main character Danila Lisicic, a former combatant partisan commander, and now chairman of a rural cooperative. The narrator with humor, and sometimes with bitterness, talks about the ups and downs of his life, caused by the discrepancy between his partisan acumen and the laws of peaceful life. The action of the novel unfolds against the broad background of Yugoslav reality of the 40s and 50s.
