The main entertainment of the Kochs - the ruling elite of the inhabitants of the planets of the Magellanic Cloud - bets on the participants wars organized in isolated backward worlds. The main character, Eldin Larisa, is accused of violating the rules when organizing the last war game, as a result of which many members of the elite suffered colossal losses. Together with Corbin Gablona and Sigma Azermatti, Larisa is sent to the planet Hole, where unexpectedly all three become ordinary “bargaining chips” of the devil’s roulette.
