About the book: 1964 / The novel shows the struggle of the Yugoslav partisans against the Nazis. The author artistically and truthfully describes the difficult and thorny path of the partisan unit, full of dangers and anxieties, through the Bosnian wooded mountains and villages burned by the occupiers, across the Drina River to Serbia, towards the troops of the Red Army. The images of the characters, especially the main ones - Kosmajec, Katica, Štefek, Zdravkica, Steva - are bright and memorable. The pictures of Yugoslav nature are colorful and picturesque. The author of the novel, Tihomir Mikhailovich Achimovich, is a former Yugoslav partisan, currently an officer in the Soviet Army.
