About the book: 2019 / Pavel Petrovich Skoropadsky was a brilliant cavalry officer of the Russian Imperial Army. He ended the First World War as a lieutenant general, and after the February Revolution he bet on the Ukrainian map and began the Ukrainization of his corps. In the spring of 1918, during a coup, Skoropadsky became hetman (head) of Ukraine. In his memoirs, the author talks about the events in Ukraine at the end of 1917 - beginning of 1919, shows the process of forming his government, the relationship between various Ukrainian factions. Of particular interest are Skoropadsky’s impressions of contacts with the German occupation authorities and representatives of the Don and Volunteer armies.
