The action takes place in 2236 and the Earth is threatened with destruction. Scientists in low-Earth orbit are building a starship capable of reaching the speed of light. This ship discovers the planet Erythro in the Nemesis system, which is quite adapted to human life, but has a detrimental effect on his brain. Only the protagonist’s daughter Marlena is not affected by the “erythronic plague”, since, as it later turned out, she had some telepathic abilities since childhood. It was the girl who was able to understand the fact that Erythro’s effect on a person is ultimately good. And Marlena becomes a “translator” and representative of Erythro’s Mind, because she turned out to be different from everyone else. She knew how to “read” people’s gestures and therefore always knew what was on a person’s mind. Nemesis was supposed to pass through the solar system in five thousand years, and then the Earth would have died. And Eritro suggested a way out of this situation.
