This small book, written in the mid-80s. for samizdat, was published under the title “We Sing to You” in 1992 by the publishing house “Znanie.” This is not a “rigorous” theological work, although it talks in detail and in detail about the Miracle of prayer and that poetry that “can also be religious.” In the book written in the mid-80s for samizdat (and later supplemented) the author sees his task as “to show what are the main motives, the main themes of church poetry... in what ways the word of prayer reaches the heart of its listener or reader.” . Theologian, philologist, translator and publicist, Fr. George uses all the colors of his spiritual and artistic palette - the palette of a shepherd and a writer. So, through reflection on the poetry of the Psalms of David, through analysis of both versions of the Jesus Prayer, through Easter hymns, Latin hymns; through a deep reading of the words of Ephraim the Syrian and the theme of prayerful silence, and finally, through personal observations and stories about the destinies of those who constantly pray, the priest leads us to a firm and clear conclusion that prayer poetry speaks better than any other source about the secrets of the human heart.
