About the book: 2017 / "Courses and the Sea" - these words, spoken in Spanish, charmed high school student Masha Molochnikova. Living on the Mediterranean coast for three weeks and learning your favorite language - what could be better? Perhaps nothing is better, but a lot is more useful: for example, changing the windows in an apartment for the same money. This is what her parents think. Masha had given up on her dream of Barcelona when the adults came up with an idea: why not earn money for the trip on your own? There is also an option - to become a tutor for six-year-old Dana. She, spoiled and naughty, needs the basics of Spanish - this is what her mother decided, constantly flying with her daughter abroad. Masha agrees - and at fifteen she becomes a real teacher. The story “First Job” is not about work, but about the ability to understand other people. Watching Dana and trying to captivate her, the young teacher learns a lot of interesting things about those around her. Suddenly it becomes clear why a little girl's nanny is sometimes rude and unpleasant and why teachers can be boring or irritable. And yes, of course: it is clear why Romka, his desk neighbor, asks Masha to help with the story... Yulia Kuznetsova is a laureate of the Cherished Dream, Kniguru and International Children's Prizes. V. P. Krapivina, author of the stories “House of P”, “Where is Dad?”, “Fictional Bug”, beloved by readers and critics. Yulia is convinced that a good book should combine two points of view: a child’s and an adult’s,□ which is what she achieves in her stories.
