MediaDB / Christianity" we mean, first of all, "orthodox Christianity", by "socialism" - Marxism, but we do not limit ourselves to this: we are interested in everything at the intersection of "left" and "religious." Lopukhin A.P. Law of Moses. With the appendix of the treatise: The trial of Jesus Christ, considered from a legal point of view. The Babylonian king of truth Ammurabi and his newly discovered legislation in comparison with the Mosaic legislation (edited and with a preface by V.A. Tomsinov) - "Mirror", 2005 - 212 pp. The next volume of the series "Russian Legal Heritage" includes historical legal works of Professor A.P. Lopukhin (1852-1904). These works, interesting in their content and still retaining their scientific significance, were published in 1882 and 1904. and since then have never been republished. Being a theologian and specialist in biblical history, A.P. Lopukhin looked at the Mosaic legislation and the laws of the Babylonian king Hammurabi primarily from the point of view of the history of the Bible. As for the treatise “The Trial of Jesus Christ, Considered from a Legal Point of View,” then, as its very name shows, A.P. Lopukhin sought to solve mainly legal problems in it. Explaining his appeal to this topic, he wrote: “From a judicial point of view, the trial of Jesus Christ is an extraordinary, perhaps even one-of-a-kind fact. History has preserved many judicial tragedies. Criminal trials, such as the trials of Socrates, Charles, the King of England and Mary Stuart, always attracted the attention of people with enchanting power. But the trial of Christ made a greater impression on the world than all of them together. In addition to its world-historical significance, it also has a purely legal interest, which none of the mentioned processes has. .. The study of such a case ... becomes the most interesting task that the history of jurisprudence can imagine.” Theologians, historians, writers, lawyers and simply inquisitive people have constantly addressed the topic of the trial of Jesus Christ and continue to do so. At the same time, a variety of points of view are expressed, a variety of explanations are given for this historical event. A.P. Lopukhin attempted to look at the trial of Jesus Christ from the point of view of the norms of Roman and Jewish law in force at that time.
