MediaDB / «In search of Zephyrea. Notes on Kabbalah and the “secret sciences” in Russian culture of the first third of the 20th century” Konstantin Burmistrov: download fb2, read online
About the book: 2024 / K. Burmistrov’s book is dedicated to a topic practically unstudied in modern humanities - presence Kabbalistic motifs in the works of Russian authors of the “Silver Age” and the first wave of Russian emigration. Paying special attention to the analysis of the sources that made it possible to become familiar with the concepts of Jewish esotericism, Burmistrov considers the heroes of his book as original thinkers who sought to develop their own religious and philosophical worldview. The study is focused primarily on studying the views of several famous representatives of culture of the first third of the 20th century - A. Bely, M. Voloshin, G. Storm and B. Poplavsky, while also touching on a wider range of authors. The author also examines the question of the attitude towards Kabbalah in theosophy, anthroposophy and other European esoteric schools of the early twentieth century. The research is based on the study of a wide range of sources in various languages, as well as archival materials introduced into scientific circulation for the first time. Konstantin Burmistrov – Candidate of Philosophy, senior researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
