About the book: year / Social entrepreneurship is a new phenomenon in Russian practice. This monograph is the first publication in Russian, which examines the experience of social entrepreneurship in Russia and in the world, taking into account its diversity and research potential. The book summarizes information regarding the development of social entrepreneurship in different countries and modern research in this new field; The activities of eleven foreign and four Russian enterprises, representing the practice of social entrepreneurship from different sides, are described in detail. The appendix provides a brief description of the database of the Russian pilot project on social entrepreneurship research, carried out in 2009 in partnership with the Russian Microfinance Center with the support of Oxfam (UK). In identifying and studying the practice of Russian social entrepreneurship, the authors’ cooperation with the Foundation for Regional Social Programs “Our Future” (Russia) played a significant role. Information on international cases is based on the database of fellows from the Ashoka Foundation, a global organization supporting social entrepreneurs. For researchers, teachers and students specializing in the field of management, sociology, institutional economics, entrepreneurship theory; for representatives of state departments of social policy, education, culture, entrepreneurship support, as well as for practicing entrepreneurs interested in the social purpose of their activities.
