About the book: year / Ann Vetemaa is known not only to Estonian-speaking readers, but also to Russian-speaking ones. The writer became widely famous in 1962 with his novel “Monument,” for which Vetemaa received the All-Union State Prize. Director Valery Fokin staged a play based on the book at the Moscow Sovremennik Theater (1978), in which Konstantin Raikin played the main role.
