He is the author of 6 books and more than two dozen publications devoted to the history of the development of the Northern Sea Route, the formation and development of shipping along this national Russian highway, the current state of the Arctic region and the ways of its development. The book includes memories of German Dmitrievich Burkov from friends and colleagues, people who knew him closely at various periods of his life. Covering an almost seventy-year period, the notes introduce the reader to many significant events in the life of the country. More than 100 photographs are provided as illustrations.
