About the book: 1946 / From the translator: excerpts from Robert Heinlein’s work “Take Your Government" translated from English by me are used exclusively for informational and cultural purposes, with The goal is to acquaint readers with the peculiarities of political activity in the United States in the mid-20th century. All points of view described in them are the opinion of the author of the work, Robert Heinlein, and they may not coincide with mine. Take Back Your Government is a guide for aspiring politicians written by Heinlein in the late 40s. In my opinion, the book is interesting because, firstly, it was written by the Master of Science Fiction and retains his signature laconic, bright style, and secondly, it shows American political life of that time from the inside, without embellishment and without omissions. And, I hope, it will be read by people who believe that ordinary people should not be allowed into the process of making important decisions, because, as Winston Churchill said, “Democracy is imperfect, but humanity has not yet come up with anything better.”».
