About the book: year / Do you like traveling? In 2012, the author of the book, historian and film director Ruben Guini, together with his group, walked 6 thousand kilometers from Beijing to the Indian city of Madras. During the trip, a documentary film was filmed, which received several international awards, including the Presidential Prize of Armenia (2016). The film aroused unexpected interest in the previously unknown history of the Silk Road. The filmfestivals.com website included the film in the list of the best projects of 2014. This book is the result of research revealing the history of Armenians on the Silk Road and in China. For the first time in Russian, reports from travelers such as Bento de Gois and Joannes Lassar are presented, as well as an article about a Christian kairak discovered by Ghini’s group in one of the Hermitage vaults, which was considered irretrievably lost.
