About the book: 2016 / The book is dedicated to one of the most tragic episodes of the Decembrist movement - the uprising of the Chernigov Infantry Regiment. Using new archival materials, the author analyzes the state of secret societies on the eve of the uprising; an attempt is made to describe the causes of the uprising, its course and consequences. The historical inevitability of the defeat of the southern Decembrists, who were unable to cope with the elements of the soldiers' rebellion, is shown. The book is intended for everyone who is interested in Russian history.
