  • MediaDB / «Copenhaga" Andrey Ivanov: download fb2, read online

About the book: 2011 / The collection "Copenhaga" is a gallery of portraits. A Russian artist who cannot begin to work on his paintings; a homosexual musician plays in bars and drinks to the point of insanity; an old priest obsessed with a religious project; refugees, hippies, outcasts... Each of them is locked in a room of their own separate loneliness. The incredible pranks of the heroes of the short stories can be compared with the pranks of children who were abandoned without really explaining why life was given; and the more absurd their actions, the more obvious is the devastating despair that pushes them to do this. Like the novel “The Journey of Hanuman to Lolland,” the collection is written in the genre of pseudo-autobiography and is connected with the novel not only through characters - Hanuman, Nepalino, Mikhail Potapov, but also the motive of illegal residence, which in the novel “Ashes” acquires poetic and metaphysical meaning. “... the universe is created every second, born here and now, and never dies; infinity recreates itself through an effort of will, turning a moment of existence into eternity. Such a strong-willed effort is familiar only to those who had to show perseverance and live, despite the lingering cold of death.” (from the novel "Weber Street", 10»).
