About the book: year / The novella was published in the online magazine "One and a half parsecs" 13\2013. Perhaps someone will be interested. Some years after graduating from an Afghan company, a former two-year engineer*, while on business in Afghanistan, at one of the bazaars, feels someone’s more than intent gaze on him. Having met eye to eye with a simple, unremarkable local resident, he is surprised to notice how he, unable to hold back the flow of surging tears, runs away to get lost in the crowd. The engineer only remembers on the plane to his homeland that perhaps this is exactly the soldier from the unit where he served at that time, and who was either captured, deserted, or went to the enemy himself. Such a sketch, in an incomprehensible way, and for me too, was transported into a completely different plot from the above-described short story “Brother, stand up!” Prim - "two-year student" ("jacket", "partisan") - a civilian specialist with a higher education, in Soviet times conscripted for 2 years in the USSR Armed Forces.
