About the book: 1957 / Author of the book Operation "Cicero" L. Moisisch during the Second World War served as attaché of the German embassy in Turkey, being at the same time time as an employee of one of the intelligence services of Nazi Germany. Moisisch claims that the events he describes actually occurred in 1943–1944, when German intelligence gained access to top secret documents of the British embassy in Ankara. Revealing the activities of numerous intelligence agencies of Nazi Germany, the author paints a picture bitter hostility and intrigue between the Nazi leaders, their misanthropic policies, which led to a criminal game with the destinies of the German and other European peoples. It should be noted, however, that Moisisch consistently tries to whitewash his intelligence activities and present the war criminal Franz von Papen in a favorable light. Ambassador of Nazi Germany to Turkey. Von Papen appears in Moisisch's book as a humane, noble man, offended by the leaders of Germany, and even almost an opponent of the Hitler regime. Written in a fascinating form, the book introduces the reader to some of the methods of work of foreign intelligence services.
