About the book: 1983 / Sergei Mikhailovich Polikanov (1926-1994) - physicist scientist, specialist in the field of nuclear energy. Since 1949 he worked in the laboratory headed by Kurchatov. Since 1957 he worked at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna. In 1975, he began collaborating with scientists working at the European Nuclear Research Center in Geneva. It was during this period that the scientist went into open conflict with the Soviet authorities and emigrated in 1978. In the West he continued his work in the field of nuclear physics. The book is based on autobiographical material.
