About the book: 2017 / We present to the attention of readers an original story by the Azerbaijani writer Anar, written based on the ancient Turkic-Oguz epic "The Book of My Grandfather Korkut". The story covers almost all the plots, storylines, episodes and even individual motifs of the ancient monument. His story very clearly emphasizes all the positive things that Oguz society lived with and that was immortalized by storytellers. The main pathos of the story “Dede Korkut” is the desire of the Oguzes to live in peace and harmony among themselves and with their neighbors. In Anar’s story “Dede Korkut” offered to readers, the original style of the Turkic heroic epic is preserved. Sometimes romantic and lyrical, sometimes sternly epic, sometimes fantastic, fascinating storylines, entertaining scenes and episodes make it attractive not only to young people, to whom the book is addressed, but also to all lovers of the literary word.
