MediaDB / «Dresden passions. A Tale from the History of the International Anti-Semitic Movement" Friedrich Gorenstein: download fb2, read online
About the book: 2015 / An outstanding Russian writer of the second half of the twentieth century, Friedrich Gorenstein (1932-2002) is known as the author of the novels “Psalm”, “Place” ”, stories “Winter of 53”, “Atonement”, “Steps”, plays “Disputes about Dostoevsky”, “Berdichev”, scripts for the films “Solaris” and “Slave of Love”, as well as many other works. “The Dresden Passion” occupies a special place in his work. This book cannot be entirely attributed to either fiction or journalism: both genres coexist in it on equal terms. An entertaining plot - an ironic story about the participation of delegates from Russia in the First International Anti-Semitism Congress, held in 1882 in Dresden - serves as the occasion for a deep psychological study of the first steps of “scientific” anti-Semitism and a reasonable conclusion about its inevitable connection with the socialist movement.
