About the book: 1975 / The book offered to the reader's attention is a translation of two works dedicated to Oceania and closely related to each other by the famous Czechoslovak ethnographer Miloslav Stingl, "The Black Islands" and "The Last paradise". The traveler's book describes the islands of Oceania: Tahiti, Easter, Eastern and Western Samoa, Tonga, etc. The book tells about the nature of the islands, their wildlife and mainly about the peoples inhabiting them. The myths and legends of the aborigines of various islands are also presented.
