About the book: year / The “History” of Catholicos Esai covers a short period (1702-1722), but it represents a large interest, as a fairly detailed description of events made by a contemporary and, in many cases, a participant. The work of Yesai Catholicos was first published in Shusha by the Karabakh Metropolitan Baghdasar Hasan-Jalalyan in 1839. The second edition was published in Jerusalem in 1868, in addition, the “History” of Catholicos Yesai was translated into French by Acad. M. Brosset and published in St. Petersburg in 1876, in volume II of the “Collection of Armenian Stories”. In the Russian translation, we omitted and did not include passages that were of a religious nature and were not directly related to the events described. Such gaps are indicated by ellipses.
