About the book: 2017 / The third volume of the collected works of the prominent French symbolist writer Marcel Schwob (1867–1905) includes the book “Imaginary Lives” - one of the most perfect the writer's works. The book is accompanied by illustrations by J. Barbier from the 1929 edition, considered a masterpiece of book graphics. The works of Schwob, a master of ghostly visions and erudite grotesque, the predecessor of the surrealists and X. L. Borges, were practically not published in Russian for many years, and the present collection is the first significant publication since pre-revolutionary times.
