About the book: 2009 / This collection of articles represents the materials of the first International Scientific Forum "Culture and the World", which was held by the St. Petersburg Cultural Society on October 7–8 2008 at the St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts. It was attended by more than 80 speakers from various scientific and university centers in Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Stavropol, Novosibirsk, Murmansk, Samara, Serpukhov), as well as Germany, France, Switzerland, and India. The main goal of the forum was to discuss problems at the intersection of culture, politics and economics - one of the most significant areas of manifestation of initiatives of public groups and individuals both in the modern world and in historical retrospect. Compiled based on the forum materials, the collection includes articles containing new concepts of the development of world culture, ideas about the interaction of the world and culture, politics and culture, religion and culture, art and culture, about the influence on the formation of a new phenomenon in culture in connection with a powerful communication tool - the Internet , globalities of education in the modern world.
