About the book: 2003 / Publication dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of the great son Russia - Fyodor Ivanovich Chaliapin. An artist, an artist, a person appears in the memories of those closest to him - his daughter (Irina Fedorovna), friend (Konstantin Korovin), as well as famous contemporaries (I. A. Bunin, V. V. Rozanov, L. N. Andreeva, V. M. Doroshevich and others). The last section of the book is devoted to Chaliapin’s connections with the Yaroslavl region, which lasted for many years (from 1898 to 1915). Here, in Putyatin (Arsaki station of the Yaroslavl railway), in 1898 he rested at the dacha of the singer T. S. Lyubatovich, met with the historian V. O. Klyuchevsky, who lived next door; in the church of the village of Gagino he marries Iola Tornagi, his first wife; later he stays in Otradnoye (Romanovo-Borisoglebsk district) with the director of the imperial theaters V. A. Telyakovsky. But most often he rests in Okhotin - with his artist-friend K. Korovin; finally he buys land in the neighborhood and builds his own house in Ratukhin (Itlar station of the Northern Railway) - in that same dear Ratukhin, which he missed so much in Paris, which personified for him all the best associated with Russia.
