About the book: year / By the mid-70s, Alistair MacLean gained popularity all over the world. His books have sold more than 20 million copies and he was one of the ten best-selling authors on the planet. Eighteen films have been made based on his books, scripts and stories, and there is no reason to believe that this number will not increase. Alistair Maclean wrote 28 novels during his life. He was married twice, with three sons from his first marriage. Alistair McLean suffered from alcoholism in the last years of his life and died in 1987 in Munich. He was buried in Switzerland in the city of Seligny.
