About the book: 1970 / When the city of Shchors, in Ukraine, was liberated from the Nazi invaders, soldiers of the Soviet Army read the words scrawled on the doors of Hitler's prison on death row : “For the Motherland, for the Truth! Who will be here and will be released - pass it on. Nina Sagaidak. Sixteen years old. 19.V—1943.” She was unable to escape from the enemy dungeon. But Nina continues to live among us. The name of Nina Sagaidak became known to many, especially the pioneers. However, few knew about the life and struggle of the young heroine. It so happened that her underground work was known only to the people under whose direct supervision she worked. Most of them died. With them, the memory of the details of the struggle in occupied Shchors disappeared. But the human feat of the Shchors underground fighters during the years of occupation did not perish in the memory. The author of the story, the famous Ukrainian writer Dmitry Alekseevich Mishchenko, followed in the footsteps of this feat. The story - published in Russian for the first time - is written on documentary material, but as in any work of art, here real events are intertwined with fiction and are revealed by the author with great reliability.
