About the book: 1968 / It was 1945. The command of the 1st Ukrainian Front required information about the deployment and movements of Nazi troops, about their fortifications in the Krakow region. Everything had to be done to prevent the Nazis from destroying the ancient capital of Poland. Two groups of Soviet intelligence officers headed behind enemy lines. With the help of Polish patriots, they completed a difficult task with honor. One of the leaders of the Krakow underground, the former commander of the Polish partisan detachment, Józef Zajonc, tells in his memoirs about the heroic feat of Soviet soldiers and Polish patriots. For active assistance to the command of the Soviet Army in the fight against the Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War and the courage, initiative and perseverance shown, the author of the book and other citizens of the Polish People's Republic - participants in the events described - were awarded Soviet orders: Order of the Patriotic War, 1st degree - Zajonc Yu. F., Bohenek V. Ya., Vrubel M. M. (posthumously); Order of the Patriotic War, II degree - Zayonts V. Ya., Ochkos S. Ya., Prysak Yu. Yu. (posthumously).
