About the book: 1971 / Herbert Eisenreich (born in 1925 in Linz). During the Second World War he was a soldier and survived serious injury and captivity. After the war, he studied for some time at the University of Vienna, then worked as a courier and office worker. He began publishing as a critic and author of feuilletons. In 1953, he published his first novel, “And in Their Sin,” where he showed considerable psychological skill, inherent in his short stories (the collections “The Evil Beautiful World,” 1957, and “So-Called Love Stories,” 1965). Awarded the Italian literary prize Prix Italia for the radio play “How We Live and Why We Die” (1964).
