About the book: 2023 / Ninth-grader Olya Goncharova helps her parents who run a postcard store in Kaliningrad and is actively involved in postcrossing. The international exchange of postcards seems harmless, but everything changes when, a week before the autumn holidays, an antique card accidentally ends up in the Goncharovs' mailbox. Olya invites her friends - Nastya, Gammer and Gleb - to create their own detective department to unravel the mystery of the unknown sender. The playful investigation they began, more like a library quest, quickly becomes serious and leads into a journey full of dangers. The heroes find themselves in a real “dead man’s labyrinth,” and the closer the solution is, the more often Olya wonders whether it was just by chance that a card marked with a stamp with an Egyptian vulture landed on her. Evgeny Rudashevsky, with his characteristic love for historical and everyday details, not only he delicately drew out the storylines, but also captivatingly described a variety of places in the Kaliningrad region. Among such places, the ancient villa of the Kaliningrad Regional Children's Library especially stands out, within the walls of which many of the events of "Dead Man's Labyrinth" - the first book of the adventure duology "Rathshoff Post Station" - unfold. Evgeny Rudashevsky is the author of almost two dozen books and the winner of many literary awards.
