About the book: 2017 / "Moscow" continues the "incomplete collected works" of Dmitry Aleksandrovich Prigov (1940–2007), begun with the volume "Monads". The volume presents the most complete selection of Prigov's works related to the deconstruction of Soviet ideological myths. It includes not only the famous cycles united by the image of Militsaner, but also “Historical and Heroic Songs”, “Cultural Songs”, “Elegiac Songs”, “Moscow and Muscovites”, “The Image of Reagan in Soviet Literature”, Ten ABCs, “Owls” ” (Soviet texts), the play “I Play the Accordion”, as well as “Appeals to Citizens” - leaflets that Prigov posted on the streets of Moscow in 1986-87 (and for which he was arrested). Along with well-known works, the volume includes previously unpublished cycles, including Prigov’s early (pre-conceptualist) poems and a whole series of texts united by the plot of the germination of poetry through the prose of life and prose through the poetic fabric. The volume ends with the memoir-phantasmagoric novel “Live in Moscow.” Some works are reproduced with the original spelling and punctuation preserved. Some texts use profanity.
