MediaDB / «The Cambridge Five" by Vladimir Antonov: download fb2, read online
About the book: 2018 / In the second half of the 1930s in England, an intelligence group was formed by the illegal Soviet intelligence officer Arnold Deitch, which later became known as the “Cambridge Five” . It included graduates of the privileged University of Cambridge John Cairncross, Guy Burgess, Kim Philby, Donald Maclean and Anthony Blunt. The information received from the “five” concerned primarily the state of the German armed forces and the attitude of the allies in the anti-Hitler coalition towards the USSR. For a long time, the “Cambridge Five” was the most productive source of documentary information for Moscow, and it is no coincidence that former CIA Director Allen Dulles called it “the most powerful intelligence group of the Second World War.”».
