About the book: 2017 / The book is dedicated to one of the founders of the Volunteer Army in the South of Russia, General I. G. Erdeli. It is based on his diary letters addressed to M.K. Sverbeeva, dated 1918–1919. These texts reflected the general’s reaction to what was happening, his thoughts about the fate of the country and the meaning of personal participation in the war; they recreate the internal atmosphere of Denikin’s army and contain passages of a personal nature, written in vivid poetic language. The author of the monograph paid special attention to the reconstruction of cause-and-effect relationships between life events and system-forming personality traits.
