About the book: 2015 / Donald Jensen is an analyst at the Center for Transatlantic Relations at the Paul Nitze School of International Studies at Johns Hopkins University. Jensen writes on Russian domestic and foreign policy, Russia-US relations, and the countries of the former Soviet Union. In his book, he paints a portrait of Vladimir Putin as seen from Washington; the personality of the Russian president is shown brightly, vividly, emotionally, but, of course, from the point of view of the United States. Particular attention is paid to the deterioration of Russian-American relations in connection with the Ukrainian crisis - Jensen links all this directly to Putin, arguing that in an authoritarian mode of government, all responsibility for a country's policies lies with its leader.
