About the book: 1968 / Shortly before the war, a young forestry engineer Alexander Andreevich Azemsha came to the Urals. A favorite profession, a newly created family - everything seemed to promise cloudless happiness ahead. The cycle of military adversity also captured him, the author of this book. From a purely civilian person, marked in his military document as “reserve of the second category,” in six months of accelerated training he becomes an officer - the commander of a rifle platoon, then a company, and deputy commander of a rifle battalion. His difficult military path ran through the burned cities and villages of Ukraine, through the rivers and mountain passes of Romania and Hungary, where he marched as part of the troops of the famous army commander Shumilov. The author writes in this book about everything he saw, experienced, and felt with his characteristic observation and truthfulness. The author shows through the heroes with whom he himself shared all the hardships and rare joys, the greatness of the feat of the Soviet people. Now (1968) Alexander Andreevich lives in Sysert, works at a vocational school.
