About the book: 1981 / Nina Markovna Kaspe’s book is dedicated to the work of a remarkable artist, People’s Artist of the USSR, academician, laureate of USSR State Prizes, Fyodor Pavlovich Reshetnikov. As a very young artist who dreamed of the Arctic, Reshetnikov achieved the seemingly impossible. He became a member of two Arctic expeditions. First on the icebreaker "Sibiryakov", and then on the legendary epic "Chelyuskin". And his talent as an artist was not at all superfluous in these expeditions. In this book, along with biographical information about the artist, a detailed analysis of his most famous works is made. These are the paintings “Arrived for Vacation”, “Enough of the Language”, “For Peace!” and “A deuce again.” It tells how these paintings were conceived, preliminary sketches and final versions of the paintings are presented. What unites these wonderful works is that all these paintings are dedicated to children. The older generation is well aware of these works. Reproductions of these paintings, which are in our largest museums, were an integral part of school textbooks.
