About the book: год / About the authorECKHART TOLLE was born in Germany, where he lived until the age of thirteen. After graduating from the University of London, he engaged in scientific work at the University of Cambridge. At the age of twenty-nine, he experienced a profound spiritual change that effectively destroyed his old identity and radically changed the course of his life. Tolle devoted the next few years to the quest to understand, make sense of, and deepen the change that marked the beginning of a journey within himself. Eckhart does not belong to any particular religion or tradition. His teachings convey a simple but powerful message with the timeless clarity of the ancient spiritual guides: there is a way to overcome suffering and to find inner peace. Tolle has established a presence around the world as a counselor and spiritual teacher. Through The Power of Now, which became a worldwide bestseller, his teachings became available to the general public for the first time. His next books The Voice of Peace (IC "Kibea", 2005), Practicing the Power of the Present (IC "Kibea", 2009) and New Earth (IC "Kibea", 2009) were also very successful. Lives in Vancouver, Canada. About the book To embark on a journey into "THE POWER OF NOW," we must abandon our analytical mind and the artificial self it has created, the ego. From the beginning of the first chapter, we quickly find ourselves at a significantly higher altitude, where the air is lighter. This is the air of the spiritual. However, the journey is a challenge. Eckhart Tolle writes in an accessible question-and-answer format to guide us. The words themselves serve as road signs. New discoveries await many of us along the way: we are not our own mind, we can escape mental pain, true human strength can only be found by accepting the Now. We also learn that the body is actually one of the keys to a state of inner peace, as well as the silence and space around us. We can have access anywhere. These access points, called portals, can bring us into the Present—the present moment where problems don't exist. It is here that we find joy and are able to accept our true selves. Here we discover that we are already complete, complete and perfect. Many of us will find that the biggest obstacle to realizing this fact is our relationships, especially intimate ones. But here, too, we are in "new territory" and things are not like that, as they seemed to us before. We learn that our relationships are also a gateway to spiritual enlightenment if we use them wisely, that is, if we use them to become more aware and therefore more loving human beings. What is the result? True union with others. If we can be fully present and take our every step in the Now, if we can feel the reality of things like the 'inner body', 'surrender', 'forgiveness' and 'the Unmanifest', we will be open to the transformative impact of "The Power of the Present”.
