About the book: 2020 / Contrary to popular belief, scalping is not an Indian idea at all. The colonialists from England gave a wide scope to this, so to speak, procedure. The scalp served as a means of strict accountability and a kind of receipt for receiving money. In 1720, up to a hundred pounds were paid for each scalp. The British, who settled in America, saw the Indians not as people, but as animals, out of sheer misunderstanding, living on lands intended for the white man. Several theoretical works were even published on this topic in the colonies, depicting the Indians as animals, from which it was a godly task to clear the land. And they cleaned it up... These are the origins of conservative British morality.
