In the early 1930s, separate training motor transport battalions of five companies appeared in the military districts. They were equipped mainly with AMO-F-15 trucks. In 1933, the formation of separate motor transport regiments began. All this became possible as a result of the receipt from industry of AMO-2, AMO-3 and YA-5 cars, as well as Ford A and Ford AA, which were assembled from American parts at the Gudok Oktyabrya plant in Kanavin. In addition, in the early 1930s, both individual samples of cars for review and entire batches were purchased abroad. For example, in the USA, 100 Moreland trucks were purchased for the needs of the Red Army.
