About the book: year / The heroine of the novel, Ksenia Kabirova, was born in 50-degree frost at the end of the first post-war year in Yakutsk. From early childhood, she preferred boyish games, she was naughty, mischievous, for example, children baked pies in the sandbox, she kicked them, poured sand in their eyes for being offended. It was as if a piece of ice had frozen in her soul. Many years later, she wrote: “My childhood heart was frozen with frost...” And in her youth it did not get better: she was expelled from the Komsomol for immoral behavior, was not allowed to take exams at school... Marriage did not humble her character: she found her scythe on a stone. Her search for an apartment led her to work at the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR. The government institution is described by the author from the inside, observed through the hard gaze of the “frozen” Ksenia. She dubbed it the House of Tolerance. What came of her suppression of her personality? The search for herself and a way out of this state almost led her to death. The book is published in the author's edition.
