About the book: 2022 / The book of the famous Soviet military leader, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Marshal of the Soviet Union Vasily Ivanovich Chuikov, is mainly dedicated to the combat path of the 62nd Army, transformed after the Battle of Stalingrad to the 8th Guards, which, together with other troops, defended Stalingrad from the enemy, took part in the liberation of Donbass, Zaporozhye, Odessa, crossed the Vistula, Oder and ended its military journey with the storming of Berlin. In his memoirs, the author relied on documents of that time, as well as numerous testimonies of eyewitnesses and combatants.
