About the book: 1969 / Quilici is well known to Soviet readers from the book and film "The Blue Continent". Already in the first book he showed himself to be a keen observer of nature and a talented writer. Over the course of ten years, Quilici visited many African countries. At the same time, he tried to choose paths that Europeans had not taken before him. The result of these wanderings was the book “A Thousand Lights”. The book is divided into three parts: “Lights of the Desert”, “Lights of the Savannah”, “Lights of the Forest”. In each, the author glorifies African nature and its uniqueness. With great sympathy, he writes about the local residents with whom fate brought him together, filling the book with interesting ethnographic information.
